Birch Hall is a Christian outdoor education centre for all ages to have fun, to learn, to develop confidence and to spend time enjoying this beautiful part of the Essex coast. At Birch Hall we run activities that encourage young people and adults to take up the challenges that life presents them and live it to the full.
Our activities are designed for school groups, other organisations and private parties and involve a range of education and adventure to build teamwork, confidence and self-esteem. Activities are tailored to the needs of each group and are selected so that they will best meet their aims.
Currently we are a non-residential centre although a camp-site is available for groups who can provide their own camping accommodation and catering. We can provide a location for field studies, residential weekends and activity weeks.
The Centre Director, Alex Phillips, spent 19 years as a secondary school teacher teaching design technology and ICT. He headed up departments at Haileybury and Ipswich School and also coached Rugby, Hockey and Sailing. He completed a Masters in 2005 in Leadership and Management. He gave up his teaching job in 2013 to start up Birch Hall Adventures. As of Summer 2015 over 1000 people have now visited the centre.
