We're sad to announce that Birch Hall Adventures will closing in-line with school closures for the next 3 months. We hope to be able to re-open in July but will follow government advice. We're contacting those with bookings and making efforts to rearrange them for the Autumn. We'll also be using this time to work on our new bunkhouse, which will open in time for the colder months and should allow us to pick up and carry on through the winter. Summer Camp Instructors

New High Ropes Activity

New High Ropes Activity

This summer we've built a high ropes course.  The aim is to work together on a one of three challenges, the only thing is that you're over five metres up in the air. All the climbers are secured on safety ropes but it is still going to be challenging.  Come and give it a go!

Grant Awarded for New Outboard Engines

We like to say a huge thank you to the Minter Family Fund, who, through the Essex Community Foundation, have kindly donated over £1800 for the purchase of two new outboard engines.  These will be put into use on Swallow and Amazon, our two Drascombe sailing boats.  This is really super news and we're delighted to be able to continue operating our boating and sailing activities in confidence that we won't be caught stuck in the mud and not able to get home!

Those of you who listen to BBC Essex will have heard us on the radio this morning as part of Essex Quest, where presenters Liana and Ray follow clues to find locations in Essex. Today we were one of the locations.  The clue could only be found after a mini-adventure down into the bunker.  Well done Ray for getting down the ladder and crawling around in the dark! Barn Dance Fundraiser

AALA Licence

After a successful inspection visit we have been informed that we are due to be awarded an Adventures Activities Licence, which will enable us to run Sailing this year.  Hopefully sit-on-top kayaking and improvised rafting will be added in due course.  We really pleased that we achieved this at our first attempt and look forward to being able to offer sailing from the beginning of June.
